Failure analysis of ultrafiltration equipment

Ultrafiltration equipment, as the name implies, is a separation technology that uses a pressurized membrane. It refers to the fact that under a certain pressure, small molecules can pass through a special membrane with a certain pore size, and the macromolecular substances are blocked and left in the other part of the membrane. One side, thereby purifying the water quality. Effectively remove particles, colloids, bacteria, heat sources and organic matter in the water, with a filtration accuracy of 0.01 micron. At present, ultrafiltration equipment is widely used in reverse osmosis equipment pretreatment, reclaimed water reuse in sewage treatment, large and medium-sized drinking water plants, and so on.

1. The pressure difference between the two sides of the SFP membrane is too high. What causes it? How to solve it?

(1) The SFP membrane module may be contaminated;
Solution: Eliminate the system one by one, investigate the possible causes of contamination of the SEP membrane, perform repeated cleanings, adjust the new flushing parameters, so that the SEP membrane is thoroughly cleaned, and replace the membrane components if necessary;
(2) The product water flow is too high;
Solution: Adjust and control the water flow rate according to the specific operation to avoid the excessively high production water flow rate which causes the membrane pressure difference to be too high;
(3) The inlet water temperature is too low;
Solution: Properly heat the inlet water temperature, especially in winter, take anti-freezing measures. Take insulation measures such as equipment pipes;

2. The water output of the whole set of equipment has dropped significantly. What is the situation?

(1) The ultrafiltration membrane is sewage or clogged;
Solution: investigate the cause of contamination of the ultrafiltration membrane module, wash it, and replace the membrane module when necessary;
(2) The opening of the valve is not set reasonably;
Solution: Check the valve status of the entire system, check all valves that should be opened, ensure that all valves are fully opened, and ensure that the opening of each valve is within a reasonable range;
(3) There is a problem with the flow meter, which may be broken.
Solution: Check whether all the flow meters are faulty, broken or have other problems, and solve or replace the flow meters in time.

3. The water quality of the produced water is not up to the standard. What caused it?

(1) Influent water quality is too poor;
Solution: Detect the quality of the influent water, mainly to detect the COD, total iron and manganese of the influent, and whether the turbidity of the influent is within the allowable range. If it is not within the allowable range, pretreatment equipment needs to be added in front of the ultrafiltration equipment.
(2) The ultrafiltration membrane module may be damaged and cannot meet the filtration requirements;
Solution: Find the place and reason that the ultrafiltration membrane may be damaged in the system. Before replacing the membrane module, solve the reason for the damage of the membrane module.
The above points are the problems that may exist in the use of ultrafiltration equipment, and there are more problems, and we will continue to sort out and answer them later.
