Treatment method of zinc ions exceeding standard in electroplating wastewater

In the process of electrogalvanizing operations, the problem of wastewater treatment often puzzles business owners, therefore, the excessive zinc ions of electroplating wastewater has become a major problem in front of galvanizing enterprises.

Source of electrogalvanizing ion wastewater

The pollution components of electrogalvanizing ions are complex, mainly from the sewage before the treatment of galvanized products, the sewage after cleaning the surface galvanized layer, and the waste liquid generated during the electrogalvanizing process.

So what are the treatment methods of electrogalvanizing ion wastewater?

01 Add chemical agents

The process adopts chemical (heavy metal catcher) for oxidation neutralization, and uses the physical the ory of gas floating to decompose substances. The product chelates heavy metal ions through a variety of chelating groups to produce hydrophobic structure and precipitation;

At the same time, the precipitation rate and removal rate are significantly improved by flocculation and net trapping under the action of macromolecule with body structure, so as to get rid of the shortcomings of linear chelate precipitation.

02 Ion exchange method

The exchange reaction between ion exchange resin and heavy metal ions in electroplating wastewater can effectively reduce the concentration of heavy metals in wastewater. The commonly used ion exchange resins are cation exchange resins, anion exchange resins, and chelating resins.

There are many types of ion exchange resins, which can be reasonably designed for specific heavy metals in electroplating wastewater.

03 Membrane separation method

The solute composition in electroplating wastewater is mainly inorganic salt. The membrane intercepting method is used to separate the heavy metal salts in electroplating wastewater from the water, and the water with low salt content can be obtained, and the concentrated metal liquid with higher concentration can be obtained.

Under the pretreatment process, the macromolecular impurities which affect the performance and life of the separation membrane in electroplating wastewater are removed.

The demineralized water through the membrane is returned to the cleaning tank for reuse, and the concentrated water is returned to the circulating tank to achieve the double-layer purpose of heavy metal removal and water quality purification

The above is the treatment method of zinc ion in electroplating wastewater. For the wastewater that needs emergency treatment, chemical agents can be used to treat it, and the precipitation and treatment effect are faster, which is suitable for emergency treatment and sudden inspection
